Which is better? Central Heating/Air or Room by Room Through-the-wall systems? Everyone seems to say that Central H/A is the best. But, I don't want to get all the duct work done. Can compact through-the-wall systems that are quiet be just as nice for resale on a house.

Wall Laminate Systems? Hello, I am looking to install several 5x10 pieces of commercial wall laminate across a straight run located in a luncheonette kitchen. My question is: Is there a system where I can snap the laminate into T joints without using adhesives? Someone recommended to use "H" molding to cover up the seams that would be present but they advised me that I would still need to use adhesives to lock the laminate in place. How should I attach wall molding for ceiling system to metal studs? I'm in the process of finishing my basement and only have the ceiling left to complete. I used metal studs for the framing and am using a metal grid system for a drop ceiling. How should I attach the wall molding to the walls? The manufacturer says to use nails, but that's obviously not an option with the metal studs. Would a drywall screw meant for metal framing work?

Why do some new shelf stereo systems have the power supply built into one of the speakers? I was at Bestbuy today and noticed that some of the mini systems from Philips and Panasonic have the power supply built into one of the speakers. In other words, you plug the speaker into the wall outlet and then run an extra wire to the control unit for power. Why not just keep the power supply inside the control unit where it belongs? I wanted to mount my system on the wall, but with this design, I'd have a fat power cord running to one of the speakers and an extra wire heading back to the control unit.

Can someone tell me what the pest control company is injecting into my "tubes-in-the-wall" system? I've watched them when they come out to the house, all they use is a simple pump-up sprayer available at any hardware store. What I'd like to know is what they're pumping in. Also a neighbor says that the pest control company "owns" the little access box attached to the house, and that I risk legal trouble if I open it and service the tube system myself, how can that be true?

At my work has steel flexible framed wall with drywall and I want to mount a LCD monitor? I have a cantilever mount system to hold the lcd monitor. But with the steel flexible framed wall I am unsure how to mount something without ripping apart the steel wall and dry wall. The cantilever mount system and lcd monitor weigh approx 30-40 lbs. The cantilever system can hold the monitor about 2 feet away from the wall. The monitor probably weighs 15 lbs.

Are there any PC to window vent systems? I got a high-end gaming rig that spews tons of heat. If it wasn't for the computer, the room temp would be optimal. Instead of wasting electricity with an AC, I want to vent the exhaust directly out a window or the wall with a duct system. Why not just open a window? Cause it's too hot outside. Wall outlet fried old computer, brand new computer, then stereo system. Is the apartment complex liable? My brother just moved into this apartment complex in calgary. He plugged in his old computer into a wall socket and it immediately fried his computer, sending sparks out of the wall socket. He went that day and bought a brand new computer, and plugged it into the same wall socket. It blew the brand new computer up as well (luckily he had a warranty). Then the apartment manager came over and he then plugged in his stereo system to show the manager what would happen. It promtly blew the system as well. The apartment manager then plugged her curling iron into the wall and that blew as well. The landlord says he wont reimburse for the damages. I suggested small claims court action to my brother, but can the landlord evict him because he is sueing?
