Office Partition Walls Knowledge Base
How to partition a small office? I have a small office (8x13ft) with a small wash basin given in a corner. I want to sheild the wash basin from public view. The prevalent practice here is to place the filing cupboard in front of it which I don't want to do as I feel it gives a cramped look. I was thinking of erecting a low wooden partition and painting it like the walls or should I use a screen of some sort? Help! p.s. this office is in my workplace.
I have an office and would like to have a small hallway and I NEED? temporary wall to create the hallway in such a way it is easy to remove. I need somthing like the ones that are used as office partitions but the one I need is the one that can go all the way to the ceiling. Where do I get them from>? Do they have a specific name? Any help please
Need a nice 6 x 6 partition/wall? I have two large open shelves standing in the middle of a room. Like the kind that are just posts and flat boards going across (you can see through them there's no backing). I want to block off one side of these, and have it look nice, but not be too expensive. It's an office, so I considered cubicle walls, but they're way out of my price range ($400). I'm trying to do this for $100 to $200. The problem is I can't even find the cheap stuff like 6' x 6' cardboard, chipboard, or even drywall (home depot.com no help) I'm usually a good googler but I'm comin up blank on this one. Is there a keyword I don't know about??? Help
How much can I anticipate paying for a Painter to paint my office? I am trying to coordinate a Painter to paint a new office that my company will be moving into in a few weeks. How much could I expect to pay for an office space that is approximately 1600 sq. feet. 4 individual offices and one giant room with a partial partition wall with closets? All trimwork requires paint. Drop ceilings do not require paint. no doors. All White or similar. Minor stains on one portion of the office, nothing too major. Same goes for spackling. nothing out of the ordinary. Just want to get a feel for what to expect so that I can properly prepare my boss who will be paying for it. Now. A few people have mentioned a company that uses a paint sprayer. I understand that this is faster making it cheaper? or would the same prices apply? What is a reasonable time to expect both manual painting and spray painting to be completed?
Here the list of prohibitions concerning the Palestinians, according to the OCHA. Is this Apartheid? (Office of the United Nations for the coordination of the humane businesses) permanent Prohibitions: - the Palestinians of the Gaza Strip cannot remain in the West Bank; the Palestinians do not have the right to enter Jerusalem-est; - those of the West Bank cannot enter Gaza by the point of control of Erez; - they cannot go in the valley of the Jordan; - they have prohibition to go in the villages, the grounds, the cities and the neighbourhoods of the zone (seam line) located between the partition wall and the "green line"; - they do not have the right to enter the colonies (even if their grounds are inside the colonized zone); - they do not have the right to enter by car to Nablus; - the Palestinians residing in Jerusalem cannot go in zone A (in the Palestinian cities of the West Bank); - those of the Gaza Strip have prohibition to enter to the West Bank by the check-point of Allenby (Jordanian border) We Arab we are terrorists and the Zionists are the arm tended towards peace. Home Remodeling Question Regarding Basement Wall? My girlfriend and I have a partially finished basement. She wants me to divide part of the basement off for an office. What is the best wall/divider/partition I can use so she will have privacy from the rest of the basement? Is Drywall the only answer? What can I use for a nice ceiling as well with lighting? Thanks for your help, it really means a lot to us.
Attention general contractors: how much would it cost to tear down a wall? How much would it cost to tear down a wall which was put up in a garage to partition a portion into a little office? It's a one-car garage, approximate size of wall is 11 lineal feet by 8 foot high. It was done by a builder so is most likely to code. It has a door as well to permit access to the entire garage. I'm just looking for a cost range to raze it and remove the debris.
wall partitioning system? i am looking for an acrylic partition system that is similar to the properties of 3-form. I am doing an interior design project that requires 70ft of wall partition, but i do not want to use an ugly partitioning system. I thought of using something like acrylic, but i know it's really expensive. Any ideas of what i could use as an attractive wall partitioning system, that does not look like it is for an office or a gym but is not residential? Thanks
Does the backside of a window unit air conditioner have to face outside? Okay, this might sound a little strange and it was just a quick thought that I had. We are getting ready to frame in a new office in our unfinished basement. Currently we have a makeshift set up using old office cubicle partitions which is very cold in the winter and hot in the summer even though we use a space heater (and fan in the summer). There is one window to the outside where the office will be, but it is an old vertically opening one that is attached to a concrete wall (the foundation). We plan on getting central air at some point in time, but not for a while because it is too expensive right now. That being said, I plan on putting two additional windows in the walls of the new office (this is to let the air circulate as well as not having a completely closed in space (my wife does not like that idea). I think closing off the space and insulating the walls will significantly help the cold issue, but then that leaves the summer. So my question is this - does the backside of the window unit air conditioner have to face outside? Meaning, could I put a window unit in the wall of the new office and have the backside face out to the rest of the basement. Thanks.

Pisa's Café dell'Ussero: is it a rendezvous for artist ? In May 1845 John Ruskin prolonged his stay in Pisa in order to draw the early 15th -century Palazzo Agostini on the Lungarno, or river bank, of the Tuscan city. "There is nothing like it in Italy that I know of", he said; and, writing to his father, he added: "They have knocked a great hole in the middle to put up a shield with a red lion and a yellow cock upon it for the sign of a consul, and they have knocked another at the bottom to put up a sign of a soldier riding a horse on two legs, with inscription All'Ussero Café." The sign mentioned by Ruskin was short-lived, since it was thrown into the River Arno the following year by liberal students who could not even stand the sight of that Hussar. It reminded them of Austrian rule over partitioned Italy; but the Café, one of the oldest in Europe, is still there. It has been there since 1775, as attested by copies of documents, letters, and contracts exhibited on its walls, which mention the presence of a Café on the ground floor of the late-Gothic brick Palazzo Agostini in the very heart of Pisa, next door to the oldest hotel in town, the Victoria, patronised, among others, by Ruskin and Dickens, and even by British royalty. Several police reports in the local Public Records Office reveal that for over two centuries this historic Café has been the favourite resort of radical Mazzinian students and of the more open-minded dons from the nearby University, who used to convene there not only to sip a cup of coffee and play billiards, but also to discuss political issues and comment upon gazette reports on revolutionary movements in the Papal States or in the Kingdom of Naples, then under Bourbon rule, and which had been the subject of Shelley's "Ode to Liberty", or his "Sonnet on the Republic of Benevento". Contraband translations of such works of Byron as The Prophecy of Dante or The Lament of Tasso were also circulated and read in the Café, and they inflamed the minds of students like F.D. Guerrazzi and Giuseppe Montanelli, who were later to play an important political rÛle in the Italian Risorgimento. Other students who were to become some of the most renowned nineteenth-century lyric poets and satirists in verse, such as Giuseppe Giusti, Renato Fucini, and Giosuè Carducci - the first Italian to be awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1906 - made their first improvvisazioni in the lively atmosphere of the Caffè dell'Ussero, as was the case with Antonio Guadagnoli, who, according to Giacomo Leopardi, had made a fool of himself by improvising playful verses on his own long nose in the Accademia dei Lunatici, the literary salon of Madame Mason, formerly Lady Mountcashel, who had played host to Percy and Mary Shelley, and particularly to Claire Clairmont, during their stay in Pisa. By the turn of the century, this literary Café had been transformed into a Café-chantant, and then into one of the first cinemas in Tuscany, only to be restored to its original function at the end of the First World War. In the twentieth century the Caffè dell'Ussero resumed its literary and artistic vein, and it was attended by artists like Marinetti, the founder of the Futurist Movement, Guglielmo Marconi, Charles Lindberg, opera singer Renata Tebaldi, and scores of Pisa University students, who were later to distinguish themselves in a variety of professions; some of them, such as Enrico Fermi and Carlo Rubbia, were to win the Nobel Prize, while others would become Prime Ministers or Presidents of the Republic
Please help, my computer won't turn on when I press the power button? I have a single desk in an office room with two desktop computers on it. One, to the left is an eMachines T2862 (came with a 60GB hard drive, since upgraded to 320GB). Ironically, I just finished re-formatting the 320GB HD with lots of headaches and installed a Ubuntu 9.10 on the first partition (with 6104MB swap partition) and two small WinXP Pro partitions (one's for general use and documents, the other is for viewing movies, photos, listening to music and playing games and using PhotoShop). I attempted to try to install a logical FAT32 partition, but GParted has the "logical partitioning" option in the drop-down grayed out for some reason. The Windows XP Pro and Ubuntu 9.10 partitioning systems don't list the same space either. And, from that point on, creating any type of partition using my EASUS partition editor, which I downloaded from the internet, and probably any other partition editor for Windows is completely disabled. I have no idea why. Now, back on topic. To the right on the desk is a Dell Optiplex Gx260 (or "O") which is the one I am typing this question on. This one, however is able to power on and work just fine. These two computers are both plugged in to one extension cord plugged into the wall. I believe that everything on the eMachines model is plugged in just fine. But when I press the power button in any way, nothing happens at all. The monitor for the eMachines computer turns on fine, though. My dad suggested it may have been a bad power supply that's the problem. We worked on taking a more powerful power supply out of a computer that I don't even use anymore. We installed it fine, but it still does nothing. Also, the little light bulb in the computer still lights up, according to my dad. Any help would be grateful. Thanks.
What is my best investment for an RV with only $15k - 17k ? I have $15k- $17k to invest in a fifth wheel or travel trailer for full-time living I am looking for really high quality used RV and I would prefer a 33-36 ft. unit. One that I could use for 3 to 4 months at a time. And would you know which manufacturer has the best floorplan for an office (a desk built-in would work) a high R factor for wall insulation, and that offers 3 slide outs? I have noticed that some floorplans show a partition or better yet a door to close off the kitchen area. Also are bunks a necessity in my fifth wheel/ travel trailer needs? I have two kids two and eight years of age. I would greatly appreciate some honest insights about this. NRG
CONSERVATIVES, do you like the idea of splitting the USA with us LIBERALS? The more I think about it the more I like it. Let's divide the US into Liberals and Conservatives. We've become like a party of hikers stranded on a mountain slope. Half want to stay put and wait for rescue, and the other half want to get as far back down the slope as they can. Both sides could be right, both are willing to stake their lives on their ideas, and both are ready to kill the other side for resisting what must be done. So, let's split up. The Liberals get the Northeast and both coasts: the blue states. If we get all the blue states from 2008, that includes New Mexico, Colorado, and Florida. Also, Hawaii. I'd throw in Florida for the Conservatives just to sweeten the pot. I suggest we name ourselves the Social Democratic States of America. The SDSA. The Conservatives get the big center of the country and the gulf coast states. And Alaska. I suggest you call yourselves the Christian Confederation of America. The CCA. During the partition there will be some messy splits, and a lot of dramatic exoduses and ethnic cleansing. Most of the city of Austin will be Liberals trapped far behind enemy lines, in the very Capital city of the Christian Confederacy! They will have to evacuate to North Carolina. Conversely, the entire population of Western Michigan will have to make a run for Missouri. A lot of Wall Street guys will be flying their private jets one - way to Dallas, while a lot of Liberal millionaires will say goodbye to their Montana ranches forever. We have to split the federal debt and each pay off half, because both Rep. and Dems have borrowed all that money. Right now national debt is 12.9 trillion. A little less than half of that added up during the administration of Pres. George W. Bush (sorry, just had to point it out). The Christian Confederation will eliminate income and business taxes, but they still have to find a way to pay back $6.5 trillion without that revenue. Take State revenues in Texas, the capital of the CCA. They make $21 million a year in sales tax and $26 million in income tax. Without income, sales tax will go to around 20%. Then, to pay make their federal debt payments, they may have to double that, maybe to 40% sales tax. Also, a lot of that is Social Security, which red - staters have been paying all their lives. I don't know if you're going to just tell all those would - be retirees that their money is gone, or pay them all back their money in one lump sum (in which case you'll have to borrow trillions more) or keep paying Social Security, but that's pretty Socialist. Meanwhile, in the SDSA, taxes will be roughly like those in Western Europe. Most will pay 25%. The wealthiest pay a lot more income tax than now, up to 50% in the $1 million/ year income bracket. However, no one will have any medical, prescription, or education expenses. We each get half of the military, because we both paid for it. So we each have enough nukes to keep us from invading each other. Social Democratic States of America SDSA all blue states; northeast and coastal states. Multicultural, secular, republic, dedicated to ideals of mutual tolerance, freedom, and human rights. Member and foremost donor to United Nations.
