where to get floor-to-ceiling vertical blinds to use as room partition ? I saw a studio setup somewhere where the vertical blinds separated the living room from sleeping area. Room partition/half curtain rod? I have a large room and in that room is a small 6' section that I'd like to partition off. I can't install a track because it is a rented space and I can't hang a rod straight across the room because one side of the room is all windows so I can't exactly secure anything but a tension rod which would not work in this space because of the size. I also don't want a full rod going across the room. I only need a 6' curtain to close off this one area. What would be the best way to mount a pole on the wall that only extends out 6' and has one end not attached to anything? What would I need to pick up at the hardware store? It doesn't need to be pretty, it will be covered completely. Thanks in advance!

Do you know the requirements for the size of a toilet room and partition wall thickness? Do you know the requirements for the size of a toilet room and partition wall thickness? My current bathroom is a big square box which has a shower room, bath tub, vanity and toilet altogether. Now, I am thinking about putting partition walls in to create a separate room for toilet. Do you know if there are minimum spacing requirements for a toilet room in Australia (e.g. 30" width/ 60"length with 4" distance between wall and the edge of the toilet)? How about the wall thickness? Is there a mimimum requirement about how thick the interior walls have to be? If there is no requirement or you are unsure, could you please let me know your opinion? I want to save the maximum space for the bathroom (not the toilet), so I want to make my toilet as small as possible. However, I am relatively small and I am worried that what I design may not be suitable for visitors. THANK YOU!

STURDY Partition for Kids' Room? I'm moving into a new apt but my kids (g, 8 & b, 6)are still going to be sharing a room. It's big enough split down the middle (instead of using bunkbeds), but I need a sturdy partition to do the job. I've checked out curtain tracks, but I think my son will have a blast trying to swing from it (& don't know where to get one locally). The bookcase idea sounds great too, but I'm afraid it might topple over (I like the Expedit system from Ikea). Any other ideas or maybe a way to safeguard these two ideas? I'm in the middle of a divorce, so money's extra tight. I really want my kids to finally have a bit of their own space again though.

Can I remove a disk partition to get more room on another? So, here's my plan: I'm going to make a bootable disk out of a usb flash drive for my Ubuntu partition, so I can get rid of it on my main HDD. But that's not the problem. The problem is that I want to increase the size of my windows partition (So I can play games with it). Now, is it possible for me to move my Windows partition onto one drive, wipe my current drive, and put my Windows back onto my original drive? I have Windows Vista (not my choice) so I don't think I can use Partition Magic, which I've read has compatibility issues. If there is a better way to do this, I'd love to hear. Just tell me what you all think will work. Completely wiping the disk and returning the computer to its original state before I started putting stuff on it is an option, though I worry I may loose the ability to run my games, as a few of them were downloaded and I don't think I have their keys anymore.
How do I shrink a hard drive partition? I am looking for a freeware program that I can use to shrink a hard disk partition that already has Windows XP home and other programs already installed. How can I move Windows XP from one partition to another, OR make a partition larger? I made my Windows be in it's own little partition so that when it gets scewed up it won't screw everything I have up. I made the partition 2 gigabytes (thinking that would be plenty). Now I don't have enough room to install service pack two (SP2) or internet eplorer 7 (IE7). I need to either move Windows to a different, larger, partition... OR make the existing partition larger. Does anyone know how I would go about that? I can't download any external programs to do this (safety), so how would I do this using windows?

What difference will it make for a twin bed sized area for one person partition accomodation over a 4-sleeper? How should I set up/partition my hard drives? I currently have 3x200GB SATA drives set up in RAID 5, partitioned into three volumes for programs, data, and mp3s. I also have an old 160GB PATA drive that I use to back up data. I have been underwhelmed with the performance of the RAID 5 set-up (which may be partly due to my RAID controller) and, as soon as I get the time, I want to ditch it. I have read that performance can best be improved by ensuring that data that is likely to be simultaneously accessed should be kept on separate spindles: makes sense to me. I'm also planning to set up a dual-boot Windows and Linux system (I'm using XP at the moment), so partitions will be required for the Linux system. Obviously, I want to maximise performance for both operating systems. I would consider buying another SATA drive, which my system has room for. How would you recommend I configure the system to run XP and Linux, subject to the above constraints? To add to the above, while doodling at work, I came up with the following outline, albeit for Windows only. 1x 200GB SATA - OS/Programs 2x 200GB SATA (mirrored array) - data (partitioned into a couple of volumes for convenience) 1x ??GB SATA - swapfiles 1x 160GB PATA - backups. Ideally, I'd prefer a striped array for the swapfiles, but my SATA driver wouldn't be able to handle 5 drives, and I view a mirrored array for my data as a necessity. Presumably, partitioning additional volumes on the OS/programs and swapfile drives for Linux to use would be easy enough? Thanks in advance for your comments and suggestions.
Can I simply move files from one hard drive partition to the other? Not a computer expert nor fully understand partitions. I have a laptop with 52gb on C drive (almost full - has Vista, all program files, etc) and a 52gb D drive (mostly empty). I need more room to save my photos - can I move my photo folder onto the D drive to make room? Can I simply start moving files into the D drive to spread out the usage or is it more complex than that?

The bathroom in my master bedroom is totally open to the rest of the room. I am looking for a partition? partition screen to close it off. Ideally I would like something that mounts on the top part of the wall that would slide. I don't know if that makes any sense. I don't want to hang a curtain because I want light to be able to filter through. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? This is a rental so I don't want to spend too much on this. I worry that a folding screen would be too much of a pain to get in and out of everyday. thanks!
