- By re-partitioning you probably cleared the old partition. You will now need to re-install the OS.
- If you have simply deleted the old partitions then all the data' including the OS is removed. you should have just remove the logical drive ! So your machine is as blank as the July sky !! Format the drives and reinstall the OS ! As for the lost data--if they were important ----- well may be a recovery software might help !
- Hello Doe boy; Yea..Your Ok...First thing to do is open your BIOS with a F2 or F8 or F12 key..Carefully read the screens that are in front of you. Page forward until you see "BOOT OPTIONS" Again, careful, and make sure that the sequence is ; A drive (Top or First) CD/CDW (2ed) HDD (3rd) USB device (4th) Network (5th) Doesn't make any difference if you have an "A" drive or not for Boot will skip this if not detected. Now the CD/CDW Drive is before Hard drive. an this is where you will boot your system. Save and Exit. Reboot with Operating System Disk inserted and reinstall . there will be a lot of configuring before you can restore from back up. Good luck tom
- How many partitions did you make ? May be you are booting from the wrong partition. You should boot from the partition that contain your operating system ! Or you have deleted the partition that contain your operating system. You now have to re-install your O/S to the new partition. As for the portable hard drive, you can't access it without an operating system.
