Office 2003 setup on a system recovery partition? - Locate product key?

Hi there. I have an Acer Aspire 5100 that came with Windows Vista Home Basic. I did a full system recovery but realized Microsoft Office was not part of the system recovery. I did some browsing around the system recovery partition on my D Drive and i found the Microsoft Office 2003 setup program. I was expecting Office 2007 since my notebook has Windows Vista installed. I launched it and it is asking for the product key. There is no office tag on the laptop and the notebook did not come with a microsoft office cd. How and where on the recovery partition can i recover this key? Thanks

  1. when you buy a new computer it only comes preloaded with the operating system. You cannot find the key anywhere in the partition. As far as office 2007, it comes with vista but only as a trial, if you want to keep it you will need to buy a license from microsoft.
