Is there a freeware NTFS data recovery software for SATA HDDs after formatiing and re-partitions?

I have lost some music and Office work files on my SATA HDD with NTFS partitions due to MBR failure. Later I had to do partitions again and have to load the XP Prof. SP3. Is there a way that I can get the imp. files again from the HDD for free of charge. I really can't afford the cost of recovery softwares at this moment. I need the recovery of some imp. files of 5MB Office files and some mp3's.

1. For a hard drive that has been formatted and partitioned you would need industry-strength software, which is not free.

3. chances are it will be very hard to recover the information. You formatted the hard drive and repartitioned it, if you would have stopped there i would have so hope for you. Most likely with the installation of windows it overwrote the files you want to recover. sorry Off the subject but my profile has a link to my website
