Building a wall to partition a room?
Hi! I am planning to build a wall (with door) in order to partition a room. The floor now has Pergo wood floor (the sub floow is concret). I am thinking of driectly put the 2x4 on top of the Pergo wood floor and then use concret screew to tighten it for the wall frame....I think it is a lot of work to remove the wood floor and I understand it will leave some holes in the woordfloor... Any one has better idea ?

- your the boss,itll work.
- gravity pulls everything down. Run a 2x4 across the top and bottom of the area you are dividing.Nail the top in place. Run a the vertical 2x4's to the required spacing to frame out the door. Plumb and nail in place. Cut the 2x4's to fit on the floor between the door frame and the vertical 2x4s at each end of the room supporting the upper 2x4. Cut and fit 2x4s to form bracing and nailing areas for the dry wall between door and end of the wall. The wall you are inserting wasn't there before. The ceiling held up. The wall is just a filler and a division panel. Don't make it more complicated by over thinking the job.
