Mobile Partitions

Hi, Does anyone know how much room you should leave between the breast bar and partition wall/rear of lorry?

I am converting a box and need to know how much room to leave. I have about 8 or 9 feet from rear of lorry to breat bar at the moment. It is a 5.5 tonne lorry so not to worried bout horse size at moment. Any advice would be greatfully received. Thanks Cazz.

  1. just make shure you have enough room so that your horse can fit and have plenty of room to move. it depends on the size of the horse too
  2. depending how big the horse is really. make sure you have room for the horse and room for him to move forward few steps and back and maybe little wot the side. No more then about 3,4 steps because it will not be safe. Maybe put a horse in there for a few moments and mark out where it nees to go. But about a foot or two back :)
  3. I would say that you should allow for the length of the horse's neck plus 1 foot, so that the horse does not hit his nose every time you brake. I am not sure if there are legal requirements. Check on line, or e:mail horsebox manufactures/converters and ask them!
