How do I copy registry keys plus programs onto a portable drive, so I can run it in a new computer?

Please read the Details, including the specifications on the link to the new device. Originating Laptop: Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit edition with Service Pack 1 installed, 160 gigabytes hard drive, 2 gigabytes random access memory at 1.6Ghz, Toshiba Satellite Possible new Laptop: http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/502002/Toshiba-Satellite-L505-S6959-16-Widescreen/ Goal Everything from my current computer (A) copied onto a portable hard drive, so that I can plug and play it on the new laptop (B). What I Do Know: In most cases, a reinstall is necessary: But, please realize that what I'm dealing with are Adobe Creative Suite and Macromedia programs, items that require a serial code at install. All originating CD's and serials are lost, and I lacked the foresight to register the products. Therefore, I cannot re-install these programs, but would prefer to run them from the portable drive with all of the registry keys from A intact. Would using a multiboot partition work? And even then, would we still be maximizing the improved performance of a 64-bit system? The key here is keeping my purchased programs running on the new laptop, while making use of faster performance rates there.

  1. Norton Ghost maybe? Sounds like a ridiculously complicated job. Sometimes in regedit, you can find the keys, which I've done before. Besides that I don't see any convenient way to solve your dilemma.
