- Any hard drive can be partitioned as long as the partitions don't exceed 4. Just backup your data and go with the partition
- You can reformat the drive and select a single full size partition in the reformatting process. Be advised that the reformatting will erase EVERYTHING on the drive, so have anything you want to save backed up on CD/DVD/whatever. Your OS Installation discs will have all of the needed software to reformat and reinstall the OS if that drive has one. If it is an extra external drive, you can use the system utilities on your boot (main) drive to reformat it. (This is assuming it is in its own external case and can be connected to your computer via USB, Firewire, etc.) BTW: I didn't know there was a limit of 4 partitions. Must be a PC thing. I can format my Mac drives to as many partitions as I want.
